Apex-Brasil

The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) has the mission of developing Brazilian companies’ competitiveness, promoting the internationalisation of their businesses and attracting direct foreign investment. Apex-Brasil currently supports approximately 13,000 companies from 81 productive sectors of the Brazilian economy that export to more than 200 markets. In partnership with industrial organisations, the agency promotes commercial activities, such as prospective trade missions and business roundtables and supports the participation of companies at international fairs together with visits by foreign buyers and influencers to meet Brazilian producers. It also conducts business studies and provides competitive intelligence in order to guide domestic firms’ decisions to enter international markets. Besides its headquarters in Brasília, Apex-Brazil has offices in several Brazilian states and Business Centres (BC). These centres serve as platforms to assist in the internationalisation of Brazilian companies, creating business opportunities and increasing national participation in key global markets. They also serve as reference points for attracting foreign investments. The BCs are strategically located in Asia (Beijing – China), the Middle East (Dubai – UAE), North America (Miami – USA), Central America and the Caribbean (Havana – Cuba), Western Europe (Brussels – Belgium), Eastern Europe (Moscow – Russia) and Africa (Luanda – Angola). Apex-Brazil’s office in Brussels has installed a Brazilian Business Affairs (BBA) unit, which has the task of monitoring trends and European Union discussions that may affect Brazilian exports. The agency also coordinates efforts to attract direct foreign investment to the country, working to identify business opportunities, promoting events and providing strategic foreign investor support throughout the production chain in Brazil. The goal is to attract investment capital from foreign companies and incorporate technological innovations and new models of business management. Apex-Brazil heads the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).
